Why is Dimethicone/Methylhydroxybenzoate used?
Dimethicone/Methylhydroxybenzoate is used to relieve gas trapped in your child's tummy.
Do not give Dimethicone/Methylhydroxybenzoate:
If your child is allergic to the active ingredient or any other ingredient in this medication.
If your child is being treated for a thyroid disorder.
Cautions and Precautions:
Tell your doctor before giving this medication:
If your child has an intolerance to some sugars.
This medication may be harmful to teeth.
Possible Side Effects:
Stop using this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; itching; red, blistered, or peeling skin; tightness in the chest or throat; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
The frequency with which these side effects occur is unknown.

If your child experiences side effects, talk to your doctor.
Other medications and dimethicone/methylhydroxybenzoate:
Tell your doctor if your child is being treated with levothyroxine, a thyroid medication.
How to give dimethicone/methylhydroxybenzoate:
This medication can be used in children from birth.
Shake the bottle before use.
This medication can be added to a baby's bottle or given orally directly from a syringe.
2.5 mL (one dose from the syringe) should be given with or after each meal.
A maximum of 6 doses per day.
How to store dimethicone/methylhydroxybenzoate:
Store at room temperature below 77°F (25°C).
Keep this medication out of reach of children.
Do not use this medication after the expiration date printed on the carton.
